这是一些比较热门的学校和具体要求~
食品科学热门学校推荐
1）Purdue University：食品很强，不过它的Faculty很强大，申请时不宜错过，竞争很激烈。要求GRE verbal 〉400，Quantitative〉500，AnalyticalWriting 〉4.0。托福 〉80以上，TWE〉4.0。Purdue是几大名校中最重视GT的。IFT主席就在Purdue。它的方向很全面，Food Chemistry、Food Microbiology、Food Processing(Engineering)每一个分支都有强大的教授阵容。

2）Cornell University：据说该校的食品专业当属美国Top 1，Cornell是美国常春藤盟校中唯一开始食品专业的大学，综合实力非常强，研究方向很全面，涉及所有食品科学的研究方向。每年来自世界各地的申请者非常多。Cornell的特点是它的食品教授阵容有些来自其他系，学生可以接触到不同背景的教授，也可以拜他们为导师。Cornell没有GRE的底线，声称只看申请者综合实力，他们的教授都很热情，小秘也很热情，有疑问的话发E-mail给小秘有去必有回。无处不显示名校风范。

3）University of California-Davis：都说它的食品科学是全美第二，确实很强，Davis同样没有GRE底线（你会发现，越是排名高的名校，对GRE越是没有底线要求）。Davis在加州，地理位置和气候是Purdue和Cornell不能比的，所以申请的人很多，录取比大概100:15，很激烈。Davis的另一个特点是给的奖学金少，据Pertersons统计，fellowship居然1年1万都不到，RA也只有1万/年，在加州生活起来有些拮据，不过应该足够了。Davis食品系资金偏少，有浙大在Davis读食品的同学说，食品系钱少，就是有一点钱也给国内学生了。

4）Rutgers，the State Universityof New Jersey：Rutgers是新泽西州立大学，是食品专业申请的热门学校，食品教授阵容强大，有好几个IFT fellow在里面。食品化学方向的几个教授居然有人问鼎Nature和Science，很了不起。学生也非常多，因为新泽西食品工业发达，有很多食品公司的研究人员在里面充电，或充当Part time student，学校的资金也很多，给的奖学金也高（不过在新泽西物价高昂），实验室装备精良。它对GRE的要求是这样说的：V 400以上，但最好是500，Q最好700以上，托福最好550以上，拿TA的话最好575以上。要求不算高。

5）University of Georgia:它的食品专业非常强大，教授很多，系主任是LWT主编，他是美国食品界的大红人，不知道为什么就算不是LWT上的论文，很多其他学校的人发文章都要写上他的名字，也许他的合作研究比较多。我投稿的时候与他有过E-mail联系。来自中国的访问学者很多，好像中国人很多喜欢去那里。对GRE没有底线要求。研究生院的办事方式有点死板，申请材料明明很完善，它也要看出点问题来，要你重新寄材料或纠正某个材料上的"错误"，给他们自己找麻烦，他们也不厌其烦。

6）Ohio State University：OSU是中国学生的大众情人，它的地理位置很好，五大湖的热门学校。很多人喜欢申请，中国学生有3000人，据说到了那里只讲中文都能过日子，反正满大街都是中国人。该校食品与营养系很强，学生也多，化学、微生物、工程都涉及一点。对GRE的要求是V+Q>1000，AW不低于3.0
